That's pretty much the problem I'd envisioned. But obviously firmware could be changed, though that's not a trivial thing (says the electronics/firmware engineer). Zero would probably have to get involved.

I was thinking more like a 5kW generator, two of the 2.5kW Elcons, so instead of burning through all of the battery pack in an hour or so, I could extend to maybe close to two hours before I have to pull over and wait for a while. I can't sit on a motorcycle longer than two hours without needing a break anyhow.

Would it be ok or even ethical to attach one of those kiddie trailers to a zero? I'm thinking of the ones that attach to bicycles. Only for short city centre journeys of course. I'll have to drop my son off with a child carer on my way to work next year. I wouldn't dream of using my Fazer due to the exhaust and the noise.

Well that's a tough question, the first thought would be no way, with all the security measures in cars for the children it would not make sense to take them on a bike, but it all depends on the traffic, speed and distance to go.

Well that is a little different.  Several times I have seen a BMW GS with three bicycles on the rear fastened with a specialized rack.  Very efficient.  But your way of carrying a bicycle on a scooter is certainly unusual and new to me.
