A Buell hybrid?

Well I don't know, maybe this patent application is a red herring.  To me it looks more like a speculative dream.  What do you think:

Buell has always pushed the edges and come up with great ideas ahead of his time.

For example, the under the engine exhaust which everyone said was crazy at the time but now every serious sportbike has some form of this exhaust system.   He was also way ahead of his time with Mass Centralization and I personally thought that the ZTL braking system had a lot of merit but was always a bit unfinished in the details.
