National Plug-In Day Meetup?
« on: September 21, 2012, 04:17:12 AM »

I'm curious if any U.S. folks are planning on attending the plug-in day events around the country this Sunday? I plan on stopping by the one South of LAX. Any +1's? http://events.pluginday.org/p/salsa/event/common/public/index.sjs?distributed_event_KEY=613

I'm going to stop by the one in Huntsville AL. Expecting a couple of Leafs. My Zero is on its way back now but it'll be a couple days too late to show : (

I'll be at the Denver one, at the Forney Transportation Museum.  Going to try to bring the Zero - but my girlfriend wants to come so maybe not as I don't have passenger foot pegs.

I'll be at the one in Alameda, California.  It's at the South Shore shopping center near the beach and I'm bringing my 2010. DS ;D

I am thinking of checking out the plug-ins at the De Anza Community College in the South Bay Sunday morning.  Since I will be riding with a friend I will be on my black BMW R1200R, instead of my Zero.

I'm attending the one at Snoqualmie Falls in WA. It's more convenient than Seattle's. :)

We'll be there.  We have organized a group ride from our shop in West Hollywood down to El Segundo.  We're meeting at 10am if anybody would like to join us.

Here are some photos from the Plug-In Day exhibition at De Anza Community College in Cupertino, CA  Neither Zero nor Brammo showed up, even though Zero HQ is located not far away.   :(

The only motorcycles on display was the Lightning and the Electricepter.

We had a great day here in Alameda, Ca.  Zero showed up with four bikes making my bringing the 2010 DS kind of pointless but that's okay.  Getting some exposure out there is the whole idea.  They weren't giving out test drives but I got to test drive a 2011 XU anyway.  It's a great little bike on sale for only $3500 and it has a brushless motor and chain drive, etc.

There was also a lot of cars there.  I saw 3 leafs, a volt, a brand new toyota Rav4ev and a 2002 Rav4ev, a factory made plugin Prius and a after market plug in Prius (by Plugin Supply),  plus a whole line of Yike Bikes and some nicely converted evs, and a Kewet.  It was a great turn out.

We had a pretty good turnout for our group ride this morning! Here's a pic of us all with our bikes.

sgmdudley and I showed up to the Denver plug-in day; and the local dealer was also not present; although the dealer has been at other EV events here.
We spent about 3 hours showing off our Zero's and talking them up to people.  There was a lot of interest.

I met a guy there who told me he had a "won" a Brammo Empulse and was waiting for them to build it so he could take delivery.   ???  Must be nice, although I'm skeptical.

Hmm.............Guess I should have been there after all, Harlan.

BTW - Please say congrats to Electric Cowboy (and to yourself as sponsor) for me.
