Alltrax AXE4834 with ME0708 (etek-r)
« on: November 07, 2010, 03:15:11 PM »

Is this a good combination? have got SLA AGM batteries 36V pack, and the motor already, been trying to design a controller for it myself, but motor has too little inductance and latest design got a bit smoky, so thinking I'll go with a prebuilt!

Found EV Drives have em for well cheap and a 2 year warranty to boot, so could be a goer unless there is any reason why not?

the current is a little on the low side for the motor, but a little on the hight side for the batteries, and should be plenty for a 50kmhr commuter I'm thinking.

got a reply back from the supplier saying the etek-r is so low inductance that its a lot safer to go with the 400A version and just dial down the current limit.

and jsut to finish off the thread, got it, and it appears to work very well. Good under voltage and overcurrent protection features, easy to program (I got mine set to 200A to preserve the batteries).
