1975 Suzuki GT 750 Conversion Project
« on: October 16, 2010, 09:05:47 PM »

I would like to share a conversion that I did on an old street bike.

Spent a few months working on it here and there. The frame was extended to allow space for the batteries.

The acceleration is pretty good, can definitely keep up with traffic. Having the center of gravity up so high did not really become a problem either, you just need to get a feel for it.

The next bike is going to be a light weight sportbike style, Lifepo4 cells, AC motor, and a real controller.

Specs:

System: 72 Volt
Batteries: 6x  8A22NF
Motor:   Mars ME0709
Controller: Kelly KD72401 24- 72 Volt 400 Amp PM Programmable Regen
Contactor: SW200
Gearing: 12 tooth front, 52 tooth rear. 530 Chain
Top Speed: 42 MPH
Range: 18 Miles

I have a lot more pics here:
