KuRi, if you are in the US using 120/240 volt split phase, what you described sounds an awful lot like you lost your neutral. It happens much more frequently than you know. This causes devices to force return back thru each other, instead of having a nice neat path to N or G. This will make voltages go crazy, can greatly amplify harmonics, cause devices on signal rejection to see sometimes double the frequency, it causes all kinds of hell AND your stuff is now BTFU.
BTW. Do you have a mortgage? If so, you probably have insurance on your house. You pay for it, USE IT !!!
File a claim with the power company too, demand to know what went wrong, and get them to pay for the new stuff you have to buy OR get your insurance company to pay for it. This is a no fault 'event', meaning YOU didn't cause it so they really can't hold YOU liable for it and hump your rates next cycle.
do you live by salt water? the neutral dropping out is a very common event, as the aluminum N wire corrodes a lot faster than the CU line leads. anyways, my point being, it sounds like you just coughed up a LOT of money, THIS is why we have insurance, don't be afraid to use it... and if it burned up your bike battery, well they can get you a new bike or battery too then maybe?? Remember, everything up to the weather head is THEIR responsibility, not yours.
