Re: Great offers on new Zero'

Energica is gone. Is Zero in trouble?

Zero is either overstocked with inventory, worried about the economy and the impact of tariffs on their business, or they are worried about action by the Trump administration promoting ICE vehicles and badmouthing EVs. Most likely it is a combination of all of those concerns. Plus, perhaps KTM financial problems happening at the same time as Energica's are making their investor board's knees shake and they want to cut their inventory down to more manageable levels.

Personally, if I was Zero, I would be working on a mid-range electric motorcycle, selling for around $6-$8K, and just manufacture a few of the more expensive models on special order from a customer visiting a retail dealer. That is how I bought my 2012, 2014 and 2018 Zeros. I special ordered each one after giving my dealer a $500 deposit. That system really cuts down on the inventory stuck at dealer showrooms and the customer gets exactly the model that they want - and perhaps one that hasn't been sitting around in a dealer's showroom for a while.

Every year Zero has special offers and discounts on previous model year bikes, so discounting is nothing new.   However, it wouldn't surprise me if Zero has more inventory than usual and offers larger discounts than usual as the motorcycle industry in general seems to be in a post-COVID slump.
