Heated handgrips is a bit overrated IMO.  I have them and yah they feel nice on the BOTTOM of your hands, but the wind blows over the top so only half your hand is comfy.
That is why you should pair heated grips with hand guards. Cut the windchill.

I use these on all 3 bikes. Hand guards are required. Can move them to a different bike in a minute. They stop the water and cold before it hits your gloves.

YES! Muffs and handguards ftw. There's nothing better.
