DSR/X front brake discs
« on: October 16, 2024, 03:55:17 PM »

Have DSR/X owners experienced front brake disc warping, which seems to be a problem with SR/S models?
I don't have the part numbers but comparing photos of both bikes, the discs look like very similar.

At least some of the issue was caused by wheels being milled ever so slightly out of true.
Either way ... EBC discs are actually a great upgrade, with better feel.

Cas :)

I wouldn't say my '23 DSR/X discs are warped but at low speed it seems like I can feel the holes in the discs as the brake is applied.   I don't notice it at all at normal or higher speeds.

I had the same experience with my 2018 Zero when it was new. That was completely resolved by replacing the stock brake pads with EBC pads.

My 2022 SRF had front disc issues.
After 14 months it had to go in for a a completely new set of discs and pads (all under warranty but annoying as it took them 3 weeks to get the parts).
Now 6 months later I can feel that same odd 'pulse' through my finger when I apply the front brake. I think this set of discs has warped as well.. :(
I'm actually at the dealer now for the 8000 mile service and they're looking at the brakes at the same time..

Oddly my previous en (14.4kwh) SRF had no issues with brakes (the less said about the battery pack and BMS, the better ;) )
