What the actual "F" are you doing with this, https://www.rideapart.com/news/735616/ev-motorcycle-hurricane-salt-water-fire-risk/ , RideApart

TL;DR

Be careful with EV Motorcycles if you live in Florida or places that can experience a saltwater storm surge. Submerged EV Motorcycle battery packs can explode.

-_-

Like, seriously man....?

People are fucking idiots,  they need their fear porn so they can wet themselves and go hide in their closets.  sheep.

show me a battery that will NOT short out and or explode if it is SUBMERGED in fucking salt water?  Submarines don't count because they are designed to do just that.

Tell you what.  Go take a wrench and drag it across the terminals of your lead acid battery to prove how safe they are compared to lithium.

This is NOT aimed at you Moto,  just a general statement to anyone who panics on stupid shit articles like that.

Take your normal ice car and submerge it under water and let me know how well  it works afterwards?
Remember the hurricane that took out south florida a few years ago?  Many houses caught fire after the water went down because of both lithium AND normal batteries, shorting out and catching fire when under water.

Dirty Water and electricity don't mix PERIOD.
Salt water and electricity is a don't mix on meth laced crack !

I just get so tired of these idiotic articles 'warning' people how dangerous Lithium is.

Did you know that if you left your lithium car parked on a train track and it got hit at 80 MPH it might catch on fire then too??   ::)

Did you know that:
Petrol can catch fire if poured over large pile of kindling with ignition source nearby.
Even the most peaceful animals can attack you if cornered.

It's just that there was no event that touched this off. NO one that has had their EV motorcycle submerged in the recent storms had their battery explode. There was a huge storm surge in Florida, there will be another one soon and this guy is making shit up to get his word quota in for the month or whatever.

But to speculate a made up danger and then , as a professional writer for a decent publication, put it out there like it's real is what I hate about "journalism"

No one is providing useful info, just fear and hate for engagement.

That seems to be "par for the course" lately.   >:(

Not just fearmongering.
Have you tried searching YouTube for example for "Zero motorcycle 2025 lineup" (or any motorcycle)? You get lots of videos of someone walking around bikes on a motorcycle show, probably a year ago. Information in the videos is practically none. Sadly, on the rare occasion you find actual manufacturer video, you get even less information.
