My experience looking over the dealer's shoulder: Dealer uses Energica-supplied cable to hook up laptop with Energica diagnostic software to Experia through port under left side cover. Ducati dongle removed from laptop. Software analyzes moto and determines that update 43 can be installed. Some initialization process starts over the airwaves, and download from remote (Energica) source material begins. 13,000 +/- modules or lines of code download to the laptop, with 'most' of them downloading correctly. Communication with moto is reestablished, and upload to moto begins. Upload finishes, and update process 'seems' to be finished. Laptop unplugged. Moto shut off then restarted.
Moto does not restart. It looks like it restarts, but immediately goes dead. Multiple retries. Remember the 'blue screen of death'? I am a little panicked. Total: an hour has passed. I now own a "brick". Dealer calls Energica. A 'process' may not have shut off during the update. Solution: take the fairing plastic off and manually short a small connector underneath the fairing. Another hour has passed. Unable to access the small connector.
Dealer 'discovers' a RECOVER tab on the laptop's update software. Plugs the laptop back in to the Experia, and voila, we are back to Firmware 42. Another hour has passed.
Back on the phone with Energica, dealer downloads the entire update to the laptop before ever connecting the moto. Another hour passes. Download successful in entirety. Cable and laptop are reconnected, and update process is initialized. Fairing is reassembled. After another hour, I am advised all is well, and now have a 70 mile nighttime ride in 40 degree temps in rush hour traffic home.
I hope this was somewhat humorous Wadejesu, in hindsight, but I would make sure your dealer is familiar with the Energica update process, has a working cable and software installed before the update begins. Everything works fine, although I have not ridden that much after the update, and have not charged on the road, so cannot judge the great new charging station interfaces, but everything works and I am still very happy with my Experia.
