Rear splash guard

Got this off amazon, I think I like it. Ridden a bit with it on but no puddles yet. Some angles it looks odd but seems like it will work...
Can upload a picture, everything I try wont make it smaller than 600k :-[.

I would be very interested in seeing pictures of it on an Energica once you can get pictures. I’m having a hard time imagining how that would mount, much less how it would look on the bike.

Probably not for everyone but took about 30 mins and can be take off in 5. I used one of the rubber straps for the front near the seat and 5 zip ties as well, 2 at the top and to under the license plate after drilling holes in the plastic fender itself. Very sturdy but I don't trust the zip ties for longevity of course. Ill see how it works some day and use black wire if its good.

That looks definitely good for a relatively cheap piece and it's not looking crappy! But how effective is it?

I installed the original Energica splash guard (after having it painted). It's a bit wider than yours and doesn't run so far down, but that's OK because Germans license plates are quite big.
Nevertheless I would wish it to be more effective, there is still water splashing you from behind (reduced to maybe 5- 10 % but still).
So I would like someone to come up with a good-looking extension of the fender which in my view would reduce the upwhirl of road moisture much more effective.

or you could carry a rain jacket if you think you will encounter water and put that on.  8) ;D
What about the front tire?  Id think that would throw water up in front of you as well right?

My experience: Without any splash guard, water thrown up by the back wheel will hit your back and run down. A rain jacket will keep your upper body dry but you will end up with a wet a**.

I cannot tell you why, but the water from the front tyre is negligible. So the frontal fender acts apparently quite well.

Thanks for the pics folks. Both the Amazon guard and the OEM guard look good. I may have to get one or the other.

I fashioned a rear fender/splash guard for my BMW RS out of a generic rubber auto mud flap that I bought at my local auto accessory store. You get two in a package for under $20. I cut them in half, glued and bolted the pieces together and attached them to my license plate/brake light bracket and frame tubes with both bolts and hose clamps. I have had it on that bike for the past 5 years and it has been working great to keep mud and water off of my back. Photo attached.

BTW, you know what they say about BMW motorcycle owners - the cheapest part on the bike is the rider.  ;D
