Left Hand Rear Brake
« on: November 08, 2022, 01:41:37 AM »

Nissin Rear master, junction block where reservoir line usually goes, brake line from junction block to hand master, where reservoir feeds both hand and foot masters.

Magura Hc1, 12mm bore, left hand master and lever.

Setup maintains functionality of foot brake lever.

Hand Lever is so much easier to modulate, easy to use as a manual traction control coming out of corners, dragging a touch of rear brake.  Like the good old days!

Such a quality of life improvement for when you have your need to hang your left leg off in the dirt or when going around a right hand turn at the track.

Looks like you used a HHD Rear Hand Brake Fitting, was the install pretty straightforward? Shame there was not enough room to sneak the line behind the the Nissin master.

Indeed!  Yes a HHD fitting.

This setup came off of my R6, including the brake line, so the line route is limited and not yet optimized for the zero.

I wanted to test it out first and make sure that it worked with the bike's components such as the pressure switch.

Needed to make sure brake regen would activate.  Now I can clean up the run of the line once I figure out a route to hide it in the fairings.

Plug and play simple to install.

A master like this without a junction block would be a better option.  The picture has 40mm mounting holes like a brembo, but they also offer 50mm like on the Zero.  Here is a link to the 50mm mount pattern.

The HHD (green) junction block is very close to the swingarm, so I added some spacers under the mounting plate where is attaches to the frame.

That issue would not be a factor with a special purpose rear master.
