This is a great option I really like but:
  - when driving under a tunnel, nav data gets weird (would be better to assume bike stays on the same road as google nav does)
  - need the ability to avoid paying highways or fast ways
  - need ways to register 3 favorites (home, work, gf)
  - need to be able to change destination on tbe phone then start bike or with the bike on - let me decide if this is dangerous or not (it is not when stopped somewhere)

Thanks for the info. I don't know why they don't just allow Google Maps via Android Auto (or the Apple equivalent). My wife's Tesla navigation is also a bit iffy at times.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking.  My 2021 SR doesn't have all that fancy-schmancy dash tech, but I don't miss it at all.  I just mount my phone on my handlebar using Google Navigator paired to the bluetooth in my helmet.  If the phone battery is low, I plug in a USB converter into the accessory socket on the fork and just plug it in.  It would be nice if the newer models integrated Android Auto or Apple CarPlay into their software, though.  I love using Android Auto in my car.

Ive tried navigation twice. The first time it told me to turn once, then quit. Today I ran it otw to work to try it out. It started out ok, but then told mento turn left onto a dead end dirt road, then a road that doesnt exist, then for the rest od the 30 mile trip randomly appeared and disappeared, telling me to proceed on roads I had already been on that were 30 miles away. Total fail. Complete and total fail.

Why didn't they just implement Android Auto and CarPlay? These days, custom navigation software and data will be inferior and constant go out of date unless a great deal of resources are dedicated to maintenance and updates. Not to mention a ton of other compatible audio and map apps , e.g. A Better Route Planner. I am stunned.

Hi again Zero, I tried the navigation a third time and the result was the same. It told me to take a route that put me on a very slow road home, and when I didnt take it, and took the correct route, the rest of the time it kept telling me I was a few miles away from that road. Sometimes the banner was present, sometimes absent.

I appreciate that Zero offered this for free later on, and I am not complaining, but I don't need this feature so I've decided not to email you to figure out what is wrong. After finally getting my bike to work again properly after some firmware update disasters, I'm not interested in any future offerings. That part of the ownership experience has been nothing but frustration and difficulty and I'm officially tapping out. From now on, when I turn on my bike as I did today, it will tell me to upgrade firmware, I will ignore that, flip up the stand to ride and it goes away. That's the way its going to stay as long as I own it.

Thanks for reading the threads and replying but I just cant take any more of these firmware and software issues. It works now, I'm never doing anything to it again unless it quits running.

I still have a bug from time to time where the dash gos stops on the bike but not on the app. I have tomput the kill switch off and on to get it back again

I also had the navigation freeze on the dash. I was on a busy motorway, so didn't have the opportunity to flick the kill switch off and on! I knew my way anyway at that point.

Whilst the navigation is quite a nice feature to try out, I certainly wouldn't want to be lost and relying on it to get me where I needed to go. However, that's kinda the point of navigation.
