Home Delivery
« on: September 22, 2022, 05:59:45 AM »

Has anyone had a Energica delivered to their residence? I have a Rebelle on order and wanted to make preparations if and when it is ready. No dealer within 800 miles.

Energica delivered my Eva Ribelle direct to my house, took about 5 days to get from CA to WA. Better than me going 180 miles south to the dealer in Portland OR.

What you can do is go to your closest motorcycle dealer of ANY brand. Ask if it can be delivered to there. Most will let you do it, especially if you have done ANY business with them in the past.

That was what I did. I had my Energica Esse Esse 9 shipped to the Indian motorcycle dealer in Auburn, from CalMotors in Mt. View, CA (2019). They ONLY deal with Indian motorcycles but the owner was happy to let me pick up my Energica from his lot.

It is very difficult to get a bike shipped to your own house. And very expensive. But cheap and easy to ship it to ANY motorcycle dealer.  Doesn't have to be an Energica dealer, but any motorcycle dealer who will let you do it.

What year was that and what did it cost you for the delivery?

What's the difference if they deliver it to a dealer close by or my house? Seems like delivering to a dealer will involve the dealer charging for who knows what.

The Indian dealer didn't charge me a cent. The difference is some stupid law or whatever. New bikes delivered to shops are treated much differently than shipped to a house.

I can only tell you about my experience in CA in 2019 with my 2020 Energica Esse Esse 9. I cannot now remember the reasons why it was best to do it that way. It would have been much easier for me also to get the bike delivered to my Auburn house, but the Indian dealer was only a few miles away.

Be sure to ask your contact with Energica. They should be able to explain it to you. And any info. you get please post here.

Ordered in October 2021 and delivered in March this year. Delivery was included in the price as Energica charge Freight for delivering to the dealer anyway so it cost me no extra.

I've heard a lot of home deliveries go on without a hitch. That was not my experience.

I ordered in March of '22.
Bike delivered to CA Customs from Mar 31 to May 25
Bike was at CA HQ from May 25 - June 13  (I attribute this to the Experia launch)
Bike was "enroute" from June 13 - July 1 when I finally said screw it, contacted the delivery company and drove 90 miles to pick up my bike myself from the warehouse that it was in for the last 14 days.

Picked up the bike and trailered it back home.

THEN I had a major issue with licensing.
the DOL/Bank took nearly 6 weeks to get my license plate and registration to me.

Overall it was a pretty frustrating process that I could have avoided by just going through a dealer instead. Unfortunately the nearest dealer at the time was almost a 5 hour drive away through an EMCE desert so I didn't have much of a choice.

Did it come in a crate ? What is DOL/bank? Seems like a certificate of origin would come with bike.

Came on a pallet. Bank was Gesa. Came with a COO, but the WA DOL in my area would not take it and the bank took forever to process. I've bought a lot of other vehicles with them, always had license/reg inside a week.

It was a tax related issue..

Bank paid taxes and registration, but DOL had no record of it, so had to go directly through the bank, and the bank took forever.

Didn't stop me from driving anywhere.. but not having registration/plates is super sketch.

That being said, as long as you're not being a tool I don't think its an issue.

Mine was sent directly to my residence but it was basically set up by Energica to go to a dealer an hour and a half away, they did all the prep, registration, and delivery. It went pretty smoothly but I suspect you're looking for a transaction that doesn't involve a dealer at all?
