Here is a Facebook post with the first Experia to arrive in the US.

Probably one of the many Demo bikes that shipped awhile ago - hopefully they start showing up at dealers so we can at least test ride before we take final delivery.

Maybe, but I doubt they would ride a customers bike that distance. I wouldn't be too stoked if I bought a brand new bikes with like 50miles on it lol. Not a HUGE deal but not cool.

I purchased my 2022 Class A motorhome NEW in September of 2021. It had more than 3,000 miles (~5,000 KM) on it.

But I found out the reason, it's the norm for RVs. The reason it had twice the miles on it from Indiana (where it was put together) to get to Sparks, NV (where purchased) is because they drive them to RV shows trying to sell them. I assume at around 3,000 miles they stop doing such. Nobody wants to buy a new anything with 75,000 miles on it.

But all the new motorcycles I have purchased, IIRC, had less than 100 miles on them. But they still have that 100 miles or so to play with.

I would like to know where the first miles on a new motorcycle come from. Are they test ridden after being first assembled?  If so, how far?

I know new cars and motorcycles are normally trucked around, so I would expect a few miles at the most.

But new RVs are normally driven quite a ways before being sold.

Nice to see they sent one over for the factory service technicians to get familiar with before delivery begins. I am not getting my hopes up for delivery before the first of the year but would like to be surprised with a early Christmas present.

They first said September, they are now saying "sometime in the fall". Fall ends on Dec 21.

But no hurry for me. I normally ride ICE bikes during the winter and electric during the spring and summer.

As long as I have it before springtime starts, I will be happy enough.

Is Calmoto still selling Energicas?  I haven't seen the brand mentioned on any of the promotional emails that they have sent me this year. Just BMWs and KTMs.   ???

Regarding mileage on new motorcycles. The second Electric Motorsport GPR-S that I bought at the end of 2009 had 225 miles on the clock. (Far and away a record for any "new" vehicle that I have ever purchased.) The "manufacturer" registered the bike as a 2010 model and the CEO of the company claimed the miles were due to their extensive testing of the bike.  :o

CalMoto Livermore still has 3 Demo Energica's and is still a dealer to my knowledge.

It sure looks like they still sell Energica in the Livermore shop. I assume you know the shop in Mt. View no longer exists.

225 miles seems like a lot of testing for a new bike. If true, perhaps there was an issue with it, such as something was intermittent that they really needed to check several times.

I am pretty sure that it was being used as a demonstrator at Hollywood Electric during the summer of 2009. I saw a photo of their showroom that seemed to have an exact duplicate of my bike on display. I still have piles of emails in my files between me and the company CEO regarding that bike, including discussions at to why it was registered as a 2009 model with a VIN when I bought and paid for it, but hadn't picked it up yet. Before I could get down to the shop to pick it up, it was grabbed back by the company, returned to the factory in Oakland, given a new build date and VIN and re-registered again in January 2010 with another VIN right before I was able to return to the retail dealership and ride it home.
