Yikes, is that just what the dealerships charge or is that an Energica determined price?
My 3K$ went to A&S Cycles in Rosevile, CA, a new Energica dealer. They have been in business with other brands for many years.  Check was made out to them. I have no idea what happens from there.

The 3k deposit is fully refundable, so keep that in mind. Also, if you change your mind and want a different bike you can just apply it to the different bike instead.

Yeah, I'm not super concerned or anything for mine. I've just always been one of those who likes lots of communication for stuff like this - but they probably don't have much news anyway even if they were to contact.

Last I heard for the U.S. was dealer demo bikes first, maybe some customer bikes in that shipment. Customer bikes to follow dealer demos.

I understand the 20% or $10k AUD is to get the ball rolling...getting a bike alocated for build etc.. This is part of the total price...full/final payment is required after build and before shipment from the factory I believe....I stand corrected though as I'm not exactly sure how it all works. :-\

"full/final payment is required after build and before shipment from the factory I believe.."
I wouldn't expect the final payment to be due until the local dealer has the bike.

Interesting Sir, maybe different for you guys in the US...but my "sales invoice" specifically says...."20% deposit required to reserve build spot in Energia factory. Remaining 80% payment due on completion of bike before it departs the factory".

All of the Zeros that I bought were special-ordered from the factory and built to my order. As an example, my 2018 was ordered with a Power Tank that was installed by the factory and not at the dealer's shop after purchase. In all cases I paid a $500 deposit to my local dealer when I signed the paperwork.

That seems strange to me because in your case, you cannot even look at the bike before you buy it.  I was told my 3K$ had no risk involved. I can change my mine and get my 3K$ back. I assume that is after I see the bike.

But I am not sure about anything. If I do have to pay the rest before it ships, I will do such and take my chances anyway. I am fairly sure I will like the Experica. IMO, about the only thing they could improve is to squeeze a 6 KW AC charger in there for the countless places that have no CCS.

Today, I went down to A&S cycles in Roseville, CA and BSed with Randy, the owner.

He has heard nothing at all from Energica, so I know more about the delays than he does.

He has the 2023 demo models of the Esse Esse 9, Rebille, and Ego there.

They all have the 21.5 KWH battery and the Esse Esse 9 did NOT have a "plus". It looks like the smaller battery is discontinued for the 2023 models, but we were not sure.

Randy mentioned that most motorcycle harnesses come from Ukraine. We wondered if that is causing a delay for the Experia.

There were reports earlier this year that BMW was having their wiring harnesses sourced from Ukraine. That source apparently dried up quickly right after the invasion of Ukraine, which caused the factory to shut down for a month or two until they could find an alternate supplier, which apparently they have done as the factory is up and running again, although at a much lower output than in the past, with a limited number of models being produced. Of course this could be the result of supply chain issues, lack of power for industry due to the war, a lower sales forecast by BMW due to the declining world economy, or a combination of all of the above.  ???

Perhaps I will get my Experia by Springtime.  I think I have enough bikes to ride until then.

I would not be riding in this smoke anyway. Here in Auburn, it is not much better. AQI=100=unhealthy today. But Reno has been worse every day, even though I am closer to the fire here.

Hopefully the rain storm that is predicted to arrive on Sunday will help a bit with the smoke and AIQ. At least you don't have to worry about smoke particles getting into, and possibly past, your air filter. Just keep wearing that covid mask when spending much time outside.

Today's AQI has mostly been in the "excellent" range. Was AQI 16 the last time I checked. But right now, it is at 31=fair here in Reno as well as in Auburn.

I hear that the recent rain over the Mosquito fire really helped to dampen it down. The fire is now 48% contained.  :)
