It's September!
« on: September 04, 2022, 11:53:26 PM »

When I ordered my Energica Experia on June 1, the first day possible, I was told I should receive my bike in September.   IIRC, they said perhaps the first week of September.

When should I really expect to have it?

Any guesses?

It's my understanding that the initial plan was to have bikes on the water before the August shutdown, when the entire country of Italy goes on vacation. Unfortunately that did not happen. So, as it is August now the plant is back online and then hopefully this means the initial shipment goes out very shortly. Then it needs at least 30 days on the water. Bikes used to go into the port of Oakland but that's so hopelessly backed up they go to Miami now and then get shipped to South SF so the service techs can go through their inspection checklist. Then from there they go out to dealers.

So, if your bike is on the first shipment? I'd have fingers crossed for late October.

That will be just in time for winter, when I mainly ride my gas bikes.  I was wondering why they didn't put more effort into getting the bikes out by August. Did something go wrong?

I think I heard the dealers will first get their demo Experias before any go to customers. And that has not yet happened.

Yeah, I assume I will be on the first shipment as I was probably the very first person to order the Experia in the USA. As soon as it was possible on June 1.

Thankis for the info.

Too bad you can't get better status, being built, on ship, ready for customer, approx. delivery date etc.

What the factory needs to do is to install a tracker on each bike so that its location can be followed by the customer.  ;)

OP, Have you tried reaching out directly to Energica here in the US? When I was waiting for my Ribelle I was in weekly email communication with both Laurence and then Tom at Energica.

You could try this mktg-usa@energicamotor.com

Does that affect anything, such as when the bikes ship out?

I think it was a heads up just in case you try to reach out to him - I doubt it will have any impact on shipping lead times. He's probably super busy + time change during this week since it's a big event.

Yeah, I would expect at least an email or phone call with update info.

I have not heard a word officially. I hope Energica isn't getting like Zero with the lack of customer support and info!

I agree and I do think it would be cool if they had a customer portal which shows your motorcycles status.

  • Motorcycle Configured
  • Deposit Received
  • Queued for Assembly
  • In Assembly
  • Final Assembly/Factory QC
  • Ready for Shipping
  • In Transit
  • Final QC
  • In Route to Dealer

I am a little bummed by the communication. I know we haven't waited nearly as long as some have, but it's been around ~3 months and no new info, and that's after you put down $3k. Not a small amount.

$3K..?? Pppfffffttt...here in Australia we have to drop a 20% deposit...which equates to $10K AUD..!

Is that for a down payment or for the order to show you're serious about buying?

Here, the 10% is just to get it ordered and is part of the total payment.  Has nothing to do with a down payment, such as on a loan.

AFAIK, down payments here in the USA are also usually 20%. On just about anything where there is a loan involved, even when buying a house. But there are sometimes exceptions, but the 20% is the expected norm.

I am paying cash for my Experia, so no loan involved.

Did you place an order and need to pay 20% instead of 10%?

Yikes, is that just what the dealerships charge or is that an Energica determined price?

No, I didn't. But IMAO, they should try to contact the buyers, we shouldn't have to try to contact them.

I had no reason to NOT expect my bike this month, until I started this thread.
