I've just printed below swingarm covers for my 2022 FXE.



A charging cable usually holds well just stuck into that tube, but I lost it once after making full use of the bike's assets on a bumbpy road. These covers hopefully prevent that, plus they stop dust and water getting in; and they have belt tension/tire inflation values for where I need them.

What's your recommended 3d-printed piece?

You should sell them.   No everyone has a 3d printer or the materials you call for.  I have a printer but I don't have ASA or TPU.

Any combination of hard and flexible material should work. ASA is best suited to be used outside; it's basically ABS with some UV protection. PLA might work as well; just needs to be re-printed and replaced a lot earlier than ASA. Flexible material is necessary to keep it sealed and to squeeze them in place..

You may change material and shrinkage compensation in your slicer with the provided 3mf files.

There's another cap for Zero S and similar models (not my creation) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4497107 that prints fully in flexible material.

I hope some day to get a 3D printer and play around more, so far best I can do is draw something up and get it milled.
I was thinking of some kind of cap but this makes things much easier! Thanks for your efforts designing it!

Bodo that's an awesome idea to have the integrated gasket of TPU, and the text as well. Do you know if this will fit a 2016 FX? I'm going to try it (but I'm still working on tuning for TPU). What about printing it as a single piece with integrated gasket in TPU?

I thought about that; then probably without the text/symbol as I don't know how well this holds in flexible material.

There's one for download - variant C, recongnizeable from the knobbly tyres. It's got the pressure from the 2022 FX.

Both, the PP and PA types look good for the cap. The gasket would work well in TPU.
Not sure if their processes will do the dual-colour print of the tyre pressure/belt tension caps. In this case, you might want to use the plain cap.
