[Solved] Damage Repair: Question about Screws
« on: August 16, 2022, 06:25:22 PM »

Hi Folks,

During practicing my still unrefined driving skills I let my Ribelle fall down on the right side  :'( Something I strongly do not recommend!  ::)

Besides the immense damage to my pride  :P  the side cover took the brunt of the force, splintering. In addition the x-shaped holder plate underneath was bent.
Both parts (and some more) are ordered and I hope to get them during the week.

I noticed that the two screws holding the x-plate to the frame are quite thickly covered in some kind of yellowish hardened substance, see pictures.

Can anyone tell me what that is? A screw adhesive like Loctite or something similar?

Thanks for your input!

Regards,
Jay

That's just done at the factory to indicate tightest, BTW where did you order parts?

It seems different than the small marks indicating that a screw has be tightened as you pointed out.

This screw is really thickly covered all around, that is what make me question the reason.

I ordered the parts at a dealer some days ago. Energica is closed for the next 2 week due to holidays, but I hope they processed and shipped my order before that.

Does Energica have a parts warehouse in the US or does everything come from Italy?

You might check if your dealers have spares first.

Got my spares yesterday. Most probably they arrived at the dealer last week already but the boss was vacationing and no one dared to hand them out without his permission. Well, I would run a shop differently...

Hopefully this is the last time I need this kind of spare parts  :P
Next time it should be only replacements for wear.

Regarding screws, I think wadejesu was right, it was only paint, not Loctite. So to me the issue is solved.
