So I had my bike lock up twice when trying to update. The first time I swore I would not try to update again but I was fooled that this last app version corrected firmware update issues and stupidly tried again. The display would remain on and keying on or off would do nothing.  Also disconnecting the 12v battery and pulling the MBB fuse did not resolve the issue.  Each time the only thing that would resolve the issue was disconnecting battery, pulling the tank and disconnecting the 2 plugs on the MBB.  It would return to normal but not have applied the update.i guess I won't get the firmware updated until I can ride the bike the 60 miles into the dealer to have them do it.  For a bike so dependent on computer software to run, it disappoints me Zero's software is so bad.  I used to be a huge proponent of Zero, talking them up at the bike meets.  Now I would not be able to recommend the bike to anyone.  Shame, I would really love the bike if it only operated the way it was advertised.  My 2003 Suzuki ICE bike is more dependable than my 2020 SRF.  This will probably be my last Zero.

Thanks Pargil and Gary. Still mad at Zero but I feel much better now, I really do, as HAL said once.

Turns out the dealer cant come get the bike until this Tuesday so that gives some time to try disconnecting MBB, and maybe save some trouble. Do you have to have the MBB connectors off for a length of time, or just disconnect reconnect? Are they hard to remove, or fragile?

Happy to report that both firmware versions installed without any problems. Looks like the app did solve the firmware update issues in my case as I did not get the firmware install error (installed from the same parking spot that I have always tried). But I can only confirm this for sure if none of the future F/W updates fail and always succeed. Only gripe was that the app got stuck in "Waiting for Motorcycle" state even after the F/W got installed successfully in both cases.

i also have the bug when trying to change the riding modes with the new app. I should have kept the former version, the new one is obviously not working on my phone (galaxy note 20).

Does someone have the APK of the former version so that I roll back to previous version ?

You need to clear the data for the app, mine was not showing current riding mode and crashing when I tried to edit till I did.  Method varies with android version and uninstall/reinstall may be easier. Dodgy app development basically where the latest version can't cope with the old versions data.  Does not instill me with confidence about the app in general but it does seem to be mostly behaving itself now.

Procedure I followed, not sure if it needs this:
1, disconnect 12 v battery
2 revive 6 bolts and lift track just enough too access MBB
3. The 2 clips are ready to remove.  It is just a matter of pressing in a tab so a lever is released.  Once you rotate lever you can pull the clips out
4. Left disconnected for 30 minutes
5.  Reconnected everything, there dash reboots and everything back to where it's was.

Whew!! Do you mind documenting these steps with pictures? It would help folks if they have to do something like this in the future.

Hello!
i own a sr/f 2020 premium,
application update on android worked ok but app crashed, so i had to delete the app and reinstall it from playstore because of cache bugs.
firmware update to MBB v24 and BMS v20 worked properly, only takes a lot of time at 100% waiting the complete message...don't panic!
i didn't test yet the max speed problem on riding modes, but i noticed a strong reduction of regenerative brake,
my custom mode have regen at 100% and usually i don't need to use brakes... after the update i have to brake... any one noticed the same?

All I can say is that I sure am happy that my 2018 S doesn't suffer with all of the app and download issues of the Cyber III (I wonder what happened to Cyber I?) system. The legacy app and download system of my S works exactly as is should with no glitches or dropped Bluetooth bike-to-internet connections. (I don't have cell phone service at my home.) Downloads happen the first time and always take less than 30 minutes to complete, usually around 15 or 20 minutes.  :)

Nope! I dont see a difference with regen, except that i felt that the throttle based regen is a bit more smoother than before.

Thank you for the feedback,
another thing i found is that on main application page you see always "current riding mode:rain" but dash shows the correct mode, you can activate different modes from app, and dash will set properly, but also in eco mode where regen sliders are at 100% the regen force is ..let's say half than before.

Notifications? I haven't seen one in months, and none since installing v2.2.6 (Android). Has anyone had more luck?
I would not mind getting a "COMPLETE CHARGING" notification, as I already got them for a while in the early days, back in 2020.

You could try disconnecting 12V and main battery fuse for a few minutes. Somehow that restored some of the remote features when I removed my charge tank before selling my SRF.

Thank you for the suggestion, much appreciated. Sounds like you're advising me doing a firmware reset but I am not sure the problem is on the bike side. I am still getting SoC % information on the app without bluetooth, so it communicates fine. Nowadays I just set a timer on my watch, based on the Zero estimate, but a notification would be the obvious way of knowing when the set limit has been reached.
