I have a lot of friends/family/acquaintances in CA.. Almost all of them have no idea why California does 9/10's of the stuff it does.
I have a ruff idea--it's so somebody, somewhere can make money, not caring what effect it has on others.

Hello Sonofanakin,

I got my Ribelle RS last month.  I am in Sacramento, CA.  My local BMW dealer just became an Energica Dealer in Roseville. I got it from them after I ordered it three weeks prior.  I have a FB page for "Greater Sac Area Electric Motorcycles".

I hope you get it soon!

I just came from A&S. They now have a demo Energica SS9+ RS.

I am now at Yummy Cafe in Sacramento. I already ate and I am ready to head back to Auburn.

BTW,  did you know there was a J-plug in walking distance from from A&S?  I came down here on my Zero SR, perhaps I will use it on the way back.  I don't recall it being there the last time I was in that area. I already took a look at it, a 7.2 KW dual plug ChargePoint. I think both plugs can be used at the same time for up to 14.4 KW. I will take a better look at it later on my return trip.

I didn’t know about the J plug. I didn’t look

I did know about the EssEss9+Rs. I posted it in our FB group.
I know you don’t go on FB that often though.

I used it the on the way back home. See here. My Zero SR charging at 6.6KW.  I could NOT charge at the full 8KW that my bike can accept (external chargers), because it is one of those stupid shared charged stations, 6.6 KW max or 3.3 KW each plug when both are being used.

It cost me $300.00 to charge.  I walked up to A&S and purchased a new set of motorcycle boots.

Not counting that:

That's amazing.  I'm really happy for you.  Mine is still at least 2 weeks away.  It's not even on the transport truck yet.  :(  It's all paid for and insured, but I still haven't seen it.  It's only been 7 months, 8 by the time it gets here.

Why is it insured and why did you need to pay the full cost of the bike?

I have my Energica Experia on order since the first day possible. They only wanted 3K$ in advance. And why have it insured before you receive it?

I paid $3k when I ordered in December. Now the bike is ready to ship to me so I got a loan and sent them the check for the rest of the price. Had to get insurance to get the loan. Still no word from Tom on when it will ship, though.  Sounds like they have had a lot of orders and and a lot of shipments coming in through Miami.  Just wish they would prioritize my order over more recent and get it shipped out.  A bit frustrated at this point.

I can see why. From December? When did they expect you to have the bike? What did they tell you then?

They tell me that I should have my Experia the first week of September. Should I believe that or not?

DonTom,

Unless your Experia is on a ship right now heading to the US it is unlikely you will see it the first week of September. Right now everything goes into Miami. Once it clears customs in Miami it is still 10-14 days to make it to California. Possibly another week or two getting everything unpacked and then prepped to move out. At least you are on the west coast so that saves some time once the bike is ready to ship.

I don't even know if my bike has been built yet.

Anything shipping through the West coast's Oakland shipping terminal it is stuck there right now. The independent truckers are still barricading the terminal and nothing is going in or out. So even it an Energica takes 14 days to go overland from Miami to the west coast it still might be faster than if it had to go through Oakland. The truckers are saying that they will be protesting at the port until they get what they want. But there is no indication that the Governor, the legislature or the courts are going to help them with their grievances.

They told me it would be delivered in April.  It left Italy mid February. On May 24 it cleared customs in Oakland and was delivered to the SF office a week later.

Just wanted to confirm this is 100% correct. West coast ports are so useless right now it's actually faster to unload bikes in Miami, ship them to SF for inspection, and then send them out to dealers/customers.

MVetter, That is per email from Tom Huff. All of the containers of bikes they are working on now came through Miami.
