FX 2016 Question . . .
« on: March 14, 2022, 10:40:59 PM »

Hey Guys and Hello, i read here for a while and make now a registration. I have a 2016 FX with around 4600miles. Now it started that the SOC getting down faster as before. For some reason i never made a FW Update. I read in some posts about similar cases. And also that after an update the power/Performance getting bad. In my case the performance ist still OK. But the range getting down from 60miles to around 43M.  Who have similar effects with the bike ? Or have some information instead ? Sometimes i use the ´´Otten 3.3KW Charger how make a perfect job. Did the Batterys getting down with cyles or with age ? Many Questions. Very usefull the posts from gt13013 !  Thats my first writing and i would be happy about some information. // by the way, i was in ´92 in Santa Cruz for some Month and enjoyed a lot, thanks, Jörg

Does it have 2 batteries? If yes, maybe only one battery is connected ( too much voltage difference between the two batteries, out of balance, or one of them is bad )

Maybe it is all in my head, but I feel like my FXS' range has reduced in the time since I bough it in 2018.

... Or maybe I just learned to feel comfortable twisting the throttle more.

Hi,
What about top speed? is at the max? (139kh)
I noticed with my FX15, from time to time I did "Motor calibration" with DVT software.
Then the bike return to normal power + range + top speed.
The dealer probably do it if asked with Zero software, and what are the temp the bike is?
at the winter there is some loses of power because the lithium.

Hi and thanks so far, yes it has 2 Batteries and both are still ok. Top Speed is also ok.  I live now in Portugal and  it is not really cold here. Sometimes to hot... I´will see what s going in the long term. And shure , a little it has to do with  my other driving skills with the time.

If you take out the logs, you will get the amount of charge delivered by each of your 2 battery packs. That is the best measure that you can get to estimate your battery health.

With my 2016 FXS, as long as I had the original firmware, the charge delivered was given with an Ah resolution, so it was not very accurate, but still quite interesting. To get the entire capacity of your packs, you have to charge them to full, then completely discharge them. By this way, in March 2019 I obtained 25 Ah with BMS0 and 24 Ah with BMS1.
In my bike, BMS1 has always been weaker than BMS0.

With the new firmware, the logs give the amount of charge in mAh. In February 2022, a total discharge gave me 25998 mAh for BMS0 and 24309 mAh with BMS1. That is quite consistent with the previous measures, and shows that the packs have not aged.
