they said they would build the first 26 bikes at their HQ.
I'd say the rest wait for the factory to be finished but that part is my guess.
;D This makes it sound like they're pushing aside their desks and cubicles to assemble the bikes in the middle of some office space until they have a factory.

It sounds like Damon didn't think anyone was going to notice the Ducati or think it was strange.

Funny revzilla browsing EMF.  But like the article says it will be unmatched if specs are right.

I guess it's like they say in show biz.
No such thing as bad press.  Great job guys.   ;)
Free video footage was used but should not have been.
Chow down on that nothing burger.

Nothing burger   :P

Compare what is available from a dealership in my state that has to play with consumer protection should things go bad to what is proposed on an out of the country mail order deal that so far as we know has not even been certified DOT.  Perhaps called homolgomated.  Maybe they are staying below the 200 units on purpose.

As to the use of Ducati's video I presume they forgot to copyright it is what royalty free and similar mean.  What does that say about the possibility of using someone else's patents.  I do believe Damon is making patents which perhaps is where some of the return of investment for the sponsors.

The comments on that article two posts back pretty much state a lot.

Did you watch that hour long video on here lately of a guy talking and around minute 43 or 45 It mentioned someone who left Damon.

How must it be to work there and expect (or post similar to social media) to be going to race motoE on a Damon when things open up to find out they don't have any video from a race track of their bike.  Like they can't rent or buy a diesel generator.

https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/damon-motorcycles-update-and-why-theres-a-ducati-in-a-damon-video

edit- we famous now bois

Wow, nice.

They even quoted HoodRichOG!

Does anyone truly believe that Damon created the video, and not once anyone inside questioned where they got the footage from? They couldn't film the actual bike because of a lack of chargers?? Really?

Can anyone confirm that Ducati lets competitors use their videos royalty free? That would be quite surprising if true.

This company is starting to sound a lot less like Tesla and a lot more like Theranos..

The Colossus was displayed at the CES. Here is a report. BTW, that is a pretty impressive paint job: https://thepack.news/newsflash-damon-motors-unveiled-limited-edition-hyperfighter-colossus-at-the-consumer-electronics-show/

I think most people on this forum want these companies to succeed. We want Lightning to succeed, we want Damon to succeed, we want them all to succeed. It's why we are here.

The problems pop up with the Tech CEO/Startup BS some of them constantly say.

From the CEO:
Quote
“Forget what you know about traditional streetfighters. Just as HyperSport has done to the sportbike segment, the HyperFighter stands to disrupt the streetfighter category with groundbreaking technology not found on any other bikes. The HyperFighter is a stripped-down demon of a bike that is not for the faint of heart. We’re excited to give the naked sports bike fanatic everything they want, and with HyperDrive serving as the nucleus, Damon can continue to innovate and rapidly scale to bring the world’s most electrifying motorcycles to market.”

When you say things like:
Quote
Just as HyperSport has done to the sportbike segment, the HyperFighter stands to disrupt the streetfighter category with groundbreaking technology not found on any other bikes.

It hasn't launched, it can't disrupt a segment if it isn't available. Test bikes or not, it's not disrupting anything. Most people don't even know who or what Damon is.

Then things like this:
Quote
“HyperFighter pays homage to the streetfighters of yesterday while looking to the future with unparalleled safety and performance that Damon is known around the world for. We’ve built an incredible, technologically-advanced motorcycle that will appeal to both long-time streetfighter enthusiasts and new riders.”

Quote
...Damon is known around the world for.

Around the world for? Nobody except employees has even been on these bikes.

This isn't just related to electric motorcycle companies, this is a lot of companies in general. But we are on the EVM forum and that is the topic.

People have been soured to the constant press release but inability to actually use a product. It's across all sectors but that's why they get backlash on this stuff.

WE WANT THEM TO SUCCEED. It's a benefit for the whole industry. But you need more then Instagram photos and a few prototype bikes to convince most people these days.

Meanwhile, the actual bikes at CES showcasing lots of 3D printing:

I made this comparison attempting to see what the renderings look like versus the actual bike:

It has a left hand rear brake, looks like the brake hose might get squished in the shock spring.  Two years I wondered if the rear brake pedal would not work out too well with the moving footpegs.  Moving footpegs have been taken out of the specs as we have known for a while.

Good to see the oil filler cap from the rendering has gone. I'm sure that was just a clutchcover from an ICE bike they'd lifted.

The 3D printing looks a little rough with those clearly visible layer lines. FDM is fine for hobby use or an internal prototype, but you think they'd at least have gone for some SLS (selective laser sintered) nylon for a trade show.

So they don't change the footpeg position any more with the "shift" tech?

Does anyone really care about changing their bar height? Personally, I find a comfy position, buy risers if I need to, and leave it as is. I have zero desire to change my bar height...

That prototype looks really rough IRL....

From the Youtube channel The Laughing Lion you can start from the :50 mark for a quick Damon look or watch the whole thing since CES is a toy store for adults.
