Easy Way to add forward lighting to an SR/S or SR/F
« on: November 29, 2021, 07:56:52 AM »

I used the T-Rex Frame sliders to make the mounts. Took the pucks off. Not the cheapest but it looks better than the tubing clamp assy I had in mind at first.

Cheap aluminum light bar thingies from amazon attached to that to get the right height and angle so the turn signals don't cast a shadow.

Switch for 7/8" bars

Water resistant connectors to make the install modular in case one piece needs to be replaced.

Also need one of these to connect to accessory power

Here's the lights I used... I picked these because I used them on my other bike and already knew them to have a tight beam and neutral color.

Add some loom, some appropriate guage wire, your choice of LEDs ( these are 20w ea ) and enjoy

I've been disappointed with the SR/S headlight from the first time I saw it. Not bright enough for my conditions and speed, plus that unforgivable black band between high and low that makes correct adjustment for both impossible. If low is right, high shines in the trees. If high is right, low throw is too short. This helps quite a bit.

Pics to follow one by one.

Any questions just ask.

Thank you for all the details. I surely would drive more often at night with such a configuration. I've been told the LED headlight brought with gen 3 bikes already were a significant improvement with the bulb they replaced. That black bar between normal and high beams is a pain indeed.
