I have a 2021 sr/s (v19) and was able to use the eldh command on the MBB serial console to get a hex-dump of the event logs.

Code: [Select]
  -- MBB Settings Control --

-- MBB Event Log Management --
elddh           - Log Dump by Date dump hex.  Usage: elddh [start date: MM DD YYYY HH MM SS]
eldh            - Display event log contents in hex for export to .hex (need log decoder to decode)

Aha! Dealer (Davant bikes, so far great service btw) replied:

Is it possible the charging rate has been changed?

Please follow these steps to set charge rate:

Press and hold the push button (release button) LED switches off immediately
After 5 seconds LED starts blinking slowly
Releasing the push button after a certain number of blinks determines charging current/power as follows;

1 blink – 6A/ 1,4kw
2 blink – 8A/ 1,8kw
3 blink – 10a/ 2,3 kw

I would reset the cable and try the instructions above, failing that we could look into it when the motorcycle is here.
(I use the genuine and highly expensive Zero charging cable)
So I never knew the cable could be used to set the charging rate (it came with no instructions), which goes a long way to explaining why it costs so much. Unfortunately the bike is fully charged right now so I can't go and try it out! I will waste a bit of electricity and rubber later and report back. Sorry for the slight thread derail, might be useful for a mod to hive these posts off into a separate thread for posterity.

That's definitely something that should be in the wiki manual!

Just got my bike back from the dealer. Range is dramatically better but I expect this to level out as I ride it more. But more importantly, the weird cell voltage fluctuation is gone with the new pack when charging. All values are nominal and as expected. So for the moment this gives me hope.

Thanks for the suggestion to take the hit on the upgrade to v19.  I finally pulled the trigger yesterday (jumping from 17 to 19 on my SR/F).  Now to watch the range calculations.

This is the first time I've been able to upgrade firmware without any retries or drama, so that's a good start!

I have a 2021 sr/s (v19) and was able to use the eldh command on the MBB serial console to get a hex-dump of the event logs.

Apologies, I may have jumped the gun on this one. I think I heard that it would be removed for the next release. I've also heard that the command times out after 30min regardless of actual log size, giving partial logs. Still, if anyone wants to try it, I might be able to decode them

Do you have the Turbocord or some other branded cable?

Official Zero cable for 240VAC here in the UK. Still haven't had time to test.

So yeah that didn’t take long…
I’m writing this at the side of the road next to my dead SR/S.

My battery got replaced last week since Zero decided it needed replacing at the middle/end of august. I got to pick my bike up last thursday and did several 100km with it. Now on my 5th ride with it i noticed I lost regen and my battery temp was at max. The temperature light is also on.

I stop and cycle the bike on and of. I get an error 28 (12V) and 31 (battery module ineligible) my range drops to 0 and my temperature, motor and battery light come on. And it shuts of. Tried multiple key cycles but stays the same… I called a tow to get it to the dealer.

It has been at the dealer for a week now. There are temperature sensors in the new battery pack at different places, 2 of them read 0°C and on of them reads 37°C when all the other read ambient temperature. So out of whack...

Zero says that the BMS board needs to get replaced and that will fix the problem, they are 99% sure...

My bike has been over 2 months and counting in the shop for the 6 months I have owned it.

Geez, what bad luck!  I wonder how the sensors could have gotten zapped like that.

Dealer said Zero told him this has happened before and probably happened during assembly of the battery at the factory... At the moment I am looking at my options. I lost all faith in my bike and at the moment the proposals from Zero to handle this situation are not exactly amazing.

Aww.

Well, the fact that EVs have so few parts means few will die predictably with a whisper.
