Thanks - it does seem to be mostly a case of new bike paranoia - the noises are diminishing already. There are some resonant frequency issues - I can feel a buzz in the foot pegs at a specific very low speed. Not really an issue.
More observations compared to my SR..
1. The mirrors are superb. Compared to the SR which showed nothing but my stomach, these are easily on a par with my BMW R1150RT.
2. The foot peg position is comfortable - until I put my feet down. I need to get used to putting them in a different place to avoid stabbing myself.
3. Mode / Indicator switch placement is something I have now gotten used to.
4. The seat is not the most comfortable seat I have sat on. Either it or my butt needs broken in.
Overall I like it a lot. I think I'll grow to like it even more, to be honest. Looking forward to putting some more miles on it.
I do think it's overpriced; compared to the fit and finish of the previous bikes I've owned, I'd say it was $5K to $10K too expensive. However, that doesn't take into account economics of scale, US Tax incentives, smaller marker, different energy system, early adopter stastus (still even after all these years, owning an electric bikes feels like an early adopter situation). I'm happy to be in a situation to be able to help support Zero and green vehicles.
Oh, and my dealer.. boy.
