Main Beams

Hi all,

2021 Eva Ribelle owner. Any one else have absolute sh*t main (high) beams? The pattern and throw are terrible on my machine, so much so that I don't even like to use them. The dips are fine, maybe a little close but not so much that I feel the need to adjust them.

I've looked at adjustment documentation and don't see where the mains are adjusted separately. Has anybody monkeyed with this, and had success?

Yes you can adjust them separately as I have done that. But I also installed Denali D2 auxiliary lights as well.

Thanks - the driving lights are a good idea, I'll look into that. Can you elaborate on how you adjusted only the high beams? I only see two adjuster screws for each lamp - up/down and left/right. Nothing denoting separation of the beams.

My apologies, I checked what I adjusted and it does both beams at the same time. Both needed it as you can outrun the low beams at about 25 MPH.

Is the SS9 light considered much better?

Maybe it would be better to add an external highbeam instead of extra running lights?... or both?

It would be worth playing around with the adjusters to see if a small change will improve the high beam placement.

Parking on level ground with the bike pointing at a flat wall (solid color is best) that is ~ 20 feet away will allow you to see how each bolt changes the light pattern.
Separating the left and right positions till they just touch when on the low setting should give you a bit more separation when running your high beams.
Tweaking the low beam cutoff up a little bit should not cause you to blind other drivers but will increase the throw distance of the highs.

On my BMW F800gs I run 4x Hella ValueFit Cube 4 units: 2x flood and 2x spot. When driving in the forest night becomes day.
Running one of each wired up using relays might be just the ticket.
