Someone did design a charge controller for the elcons that fixes some of this, can't seem to find it right now.

Sounds like it's a fix to a problem that no longer exists.  At least not anywhere I have charged in the last couple of years.

The J-1772 stations that split the load are difficult to find these days.

You can check in days after if you want. But I see no evidence that station is shared with anything. It's a single port 7KW station by the photos and check-ins. What made you think it is shared?

So do most Chargepoints, that are NOT shared. That's how I often charge at 8KW from the same machine that can only do "6.6 KW per port".

This station specifically says the power is halved if someone else plugs in.

That you regularly violate it has no effect on whether these stations exist or not.  They clearly do.

Impossible to violate. The machine will shut down on an overload. Shared or not.


I didn't say shared power does not exist on j-1772, but I have not seen such for a few years. No doubt there are still some older units out there, but not anywhere I have been to lately, which is quite  few.


BTW, right now I am at the Tamarack Casino, "using a "6.3 KW per port" J-plug.  The other ChargePoint I used today was "6.6 KW per plug" and used them both to get my 8 KW at Cisco Grove.

The only shared one I found was also at a collage, this one.

The last shared station I have used. And it was shared when I tried to use it. See my check-in there for Oct 27, 2018.
