Yes, it will work if you do not ever want to add chargers.

A much better deal are these here. The 3 times C-13. Not shown, but ask and one will be made for you at a very reasonable price. The quality is the best you will find anywhere.  The times 2 C-13 is shown.  I had him make mine as three C-13's. That way I can use the OBC as well as two Delta Q's plus many other options with adapters for the C-13.

It's just an adapter, it doesn't stop you from adding chargers.

It sure does. You know how hot that single cable will get at 8 KWs like I use? It will melt by the time I am done charging.

The ones from TucsonEV  can handle more power from EACH cable so it's better than three times as good as the cheap one Zero sells. And I have two of each, so I can compare quality close up.

I use my cheap ones with my DeltaQ's, 3 KW max with adapters. And that is over doing it a little already.  No way would I use such a setup with my Elcons and draw 34 amps at 240 VAC through a single 15 amp 120 VAC cable as Zero sells as well as the other cheap ones.

BTW, has this forum been giving you a bunch of errors lately as it is with me?

I hope somebody fixes that soon. It makes this forum rather difficult to use as it tells me every page has expired.

And it will do the same as I try to post this.

...Your head gets when you get a nonsensical idea like using an adapter for one amperage for another is?

It's an adapter.  It doesn't stop you from getting another.

This is about as sane as your demand that we replace J1772 with NEMA 50 outlets.

You're not making much sense. Why would you want to be forced to have two J-1772 adapters and then have to look for two charge stations for 6 KW?

And why do you like the  6.6 KW limitations of most J-1772 stations when most 14-50Rs are good for 12KW?

You need to get into high power charging while on the road  (@ 8 K, as I do) and then you would be qualified to discuss this. When everything melts on you, you will then understand why you don't want to run it all through one thin cable as on the Zero J-1772 adapter. That thing is designed for no more than 1.5 KW.

Of course I'm not making any sense when you wrote something completely unrelated to what I wrote.

OK, from the responses I'm assuming this works along the same lines as the adapter sold by ZERO (but for half the price). I have a simple 7.2 Zero S with no power or charge tank. Will the basic onboard charger be able to accept the J1772 220 input and adjust it down? Reason for usefulness is that there are almost zero listings for standard 110V outlets online even though they are prevalent everywhere. You can find standard EV plugs though through various sites.

Yes Flybuddy it will work with a j plug charging station just fine.  I have one from Zero and as long as your just powering the OBC your fine.
In fact at the 220 volt stations it will halve the amps so you'll pull just 6 amps which will keep your cord cooler since it's the amps that give you the heat.

Glad to see you pulled the trigger on your S.  Let us know how you like it.

Thanks, enjoying it, just got back from a 30 mile ride and showing 58% remaining (average speeds between 45 and 50). The seat is a bit hard but tolerable, I think part of it is that I'm used to leaning back on normal cruisers and this seating position is more crotch rocket. I've got risers on order and I may play with the pegs also. I've got a City Slicker that I moved the bars back a bit and swapped the pegs out for floorboards, also added a windscreen and it's a comfy ride now. For the Zero, I've got a Madstad Windshield on order as well as saddle bags and trunk from Zero (got a good discount from the dealer for accessories).

You can order SR/S foot pegs from a Zero dealer for $20 and put them on your S. It made the riding position a lot more comfortable for my SR, both in the knees and for some reason made the seat feel more comfortable too. It limits the lean angle a bit, but I'd call it a very worthy trade-off.

I tried rotating the bars to a more upright position, but I ended up preferring the default one. Lately I've been working on using my knees against the tank instead of letting my body weight rest on my wrists, a habit I never developed because I always rode upright bikes like my Multistrada.

Appreciate the suggestion but I'm a little confused as to why SR/S pegs would be an improvement. Do they not mount in same spot? Are they angled differently? thx much for any info

Yes, I charge my S using a J17j2 inlet adapter occasionally and plug my 'computer cable' into a 240v dryer outlet to charge at home ^-^

Yes, they have a little jink in the a little forward and down from the attachment point, whereas the default pegs are straight.
