Screens for SR/F
« on: March 11, 2021, 05:21:20 PM »

I've got an SR/F Premium with what Zero describe as a "flyscreen" but it's tiny and appears to make no difference to wind.
Anybody found any alternative screens? Googling only comes up with one from "NYA Parts" which I really don't like the style of at all.

Interesting.
Was thinking the same already when I test drove the bike but wanted to wait a little until I have a bit more experience.

Nevertheless, would be also very intested to read what more experienced riders suggest.

The Puig I had on my 690 was brilliant - about 6" tall. It meant I could cruise at 80mph, up from a barely tolerable 60mph. I don't intend to cruise at 80 on the Zero because it'll go flat in no time but I would like to feel comfortable at 70.

Zero has mostly universal mount screens.

I have seen a massive one on a test model, but no one of the board figured out what it was.

Those are - according to the vendor - for the SDS-platform.

Thanks!
Do you feel the need for such a screen on your rides?

I do - the wind is just annoying at 60mph and half the roads I travel on are sustained 60 or 70mph stretches.

@Hans2183 - those are the two screens I've already found so far and I don't like the look of 'em. I want something that fits with the lines and shape of the bike - something quite angular and squarish. Possibly I can get one made up by Skidmarx here in the UK.

60-70 mph equals 96-112 km/h.
This range is fairly standard for non-highway roads in Germany. So, I would expect to ride at similar speed.

I also second the motion to want a wind shield that visually fits the look of the bike. The 2 wind shields Hans linked look okayish to me, but do not really thrill me.

They look a bit more like pasta shapes than Boba Fett's blast visor.

The vendor says they are also 'for all Zero models' because...
Zero has mostly universal mount screens.

The universal mounting is also not quite to my tastes ... I want something that bolts directly to the mounts afforded by the existing flyscreen.

I still think the Puig Bat clear screen fits the style of my SR/F pretty well... https://puig.tv/en/tuning-motos/carenabrises-universales-para-faros-no-redondos/windshield-bat

Hm that is much more the style that suits the bike... have you some more pics of the fixtures and fittings?
Also, I like those SW-Motech handguards.
<edit> Ah don't trouble yourself - there are plenty of pics on the Puig website.
