For me the sound of the Energica is the single most relevant reason not to buy one.
I enjoy the silence electric mobility provides. Why should I spoil that by unnecessary noise?
This, followed by the chain drive (too dirty) and the too sporty position (I'm not the youngest anymore) are reason enough to exclude Energica from my considerations.
So far I'm aiming for a SR/F, probably with lowered foot pegs and even a raised handlebar.
I would have preferred a DSR - but it looks a bit dated compared to the SR/F.
Zeros are the most quiet for sure.
But if you don't want a sporty Energica, the Esse Esse 9 is the way to go. It's quite comfy.
I prefer the chain, belts snap a bit too often. Especially the smaller belts that Zero use (you should see my Harley Belt!). Chains are more reliable. The noise doesn't bother me at all. But it is a bit loud just under 40 MPH.
I realize we are all different, but I found the SR/F to be way too sporty. Try a SR/S before you buy a SR/F. The SR/F is so sporty that I have to hold my head up. I did NOT have that problem with the SR/S. I have taken a test ride on many different electric motorcycles. If I were going to buy a new Zero, it would be the SR/S for sure. And my age is 71.
And AFAIK, there is no way to lower the pegs on the SR/F.
