It's the big player in Japan and maybe other parts of Asia.

If you read the Roadracing World article you'll see that Energica provides both CCS and CHAdeMO.

I saw that and my first reaction was "WTF?"  Here in the States, ChaDeMo is phasing out in favor of CCS but after I read the article I saw that it is still big in Japan.  About the only car I know of that still needs ChaDeMo is the Nissan Leaf, which is made in Japan so I guess that now makes sense.  Of course, is Nissan still selling the Leaf?  I thought they dropped that car.

Fun fact: Chademo translates to "have some tea while you charge".
Japanese people are so nice.

Sure! It's their best selling electric car.

You're right.  I wasn't aware of that!
https://www.nissanusa.com/vehicles/electric-cars/leaf.html

And it still uses ChaDeMo too.  Go figure.  But even Nissan is phasing out ChaDeMo in favor of CCS in future models:

Now it's Zero's turn to respond!

In 2013 Zero used Cademo but the low battery voltage wouldn't allow some stations to connect.  They were supposed to be able to handle it but it was an extra cost option in 2013 and people weren't happy when it would only work some of the time so Zero dropped it.

Yeah I wouldn't want anything other than CCS, but for Zero's operating voltage Chademo might be the only thing that might work. Like they had back in 2013.
Energicas just struck some sort of a big deal to export to Taiwan and maybe Taiwan has more Chademo

Yes I was one of them that had a CHAdeMO system on order for six months for my SR before Zero canceled it. Based on emails from Zero it would have worked well with many of the CHAdeMO systems that were installed in North Carolina. But Zero seemed to only be interested in the California market and wasn't interested in what was going on beyond that state. Have done multiday trip on a Zero and an Energica and will never own another electric motorcycle without DCFC.

Yeah, but you would have hated it the moment one of those CHAdeMO stations were swapped out with an incompatible one and your bike silently failed to charge.

Interesting, as I'm sure it took Energica a lot of work & testing to do this.

Outside Japan, I didn't think there were any countries left where CHAdeMO is the primary DC standard going standard.
Maybe Japan is a large enough market to justify this? I don't think Energica sells in any developing countries at this point.

There may be specific areas in North America with better CAHdeMO access, but they're not likely to stay that way in 2-3 years.
The ElectrifyAmerica network only has one 50kW CHAdeMO plug per station, and other networks are likely to follow suit now that the Leaf has apparently been abandoned, and Nissan is adopting CCS outside Japan.

Not sure about Taiwan, but at least a quick look at Plugshare shows ~5 CHAdeMO stations  and ~15 CCS1, so it doesn't look like that's it.

Oregon. They bought into chademo hard at the start and the infrastructure reflects it. There's only like 1 road with CCS running through the state.
