A 5 best electric dirt bike video for 2020
« on: December 21, 2020, 07:02:24 PM »

From the YT channel Electric Cycle Rider:
A nice review of some electric dirt bike options for those who prefer off road riding from a guy who rides them and seems to really know what he's talking about and not just a reporter on an assignment.

All in all it is pretty good.  I have enquired about the KTM, the Ubco, and the Zero.  Also have the 2017 Ktm.

As to the KTM, not sure what sort of two stroke he is comparing it to but the 125 class bikes with no electric starter (this includes the ktm200, At least the ones prior to electric starter) there is a dramatic difference in weight distribution and effort to pick the thing up.  They come with a 3 year warranty for the battery and the dealer in NY and the one In Pa there is no document fee set up fee shipping fee, there is a $2 tire tax in NY per tire that is pretty much it.  Also it seems to really only be in stock some of the time.  Only 12 dealers nation wide.  Depending on your state you could get a plate on it.

As to the Ubco,  It isn't that easy to get either.  I signed up for a test ride and got an email from the distributor stating they had a guy that has a demo model but he never contacted me.  I could figure out who he was and find all the ventures he has, not like real comfortable about that.  Manchester Honda/Ktm is a dealer now but has no bikes yet.   They have a dot version and a utility version.  The battery warranty is 2 years.  They sent me an email attempting to sell some demo bikes with like 250 miles on them, wow like expect a couple thousand dollars of lost value in the first month.

The Zero FX  that isn't all that easy to get either.  There is a conveyannce  fee, a shipping fee, and I can't recall the others with enough confidence to type them in.  Why the sales folks want to argue with me is hard to guess at like the fees they charge are mandated by the state, like they never went to a race or show with virtually none of that from various vendors.  The battery warranty is 5 years but asking for the one with removable batteries lead to being told the 7.2 battery is removable.  I guess one has to say 3.6 model.  The 3.6 + spare battery + charger  = 12,000 I believe and add the fees.

I guess east.  Manchester Honda/KTM is Manchester Ct.  The clubs I am involved with are in CT and Ma.  My tree museums and tractors are I Wv near the Ohio River.
