SR/F - Cellular - Not connected
« on: December 15, 2020, 03:13:15 PM »

Hi guys,

I am a proud owner of a SR/F premium, used one, with only 3'000kms

I had my blinkers replaced by my dealer, I wanted LEDs instead, it works fine

But since I got the bike in my garage, I noticed a few glitches

I had some trouble to Register a new account with the Zero App and IOS, but now it seems fine and I am connected, despite the Cloud is totally empty, no data at all and according to the map, my bike should be somewhere in the ocean, South of Africa....

Cellular connection has always been 'Not connected'... always... I tried to ride further, longer, no change at all, never...

Second problem, (mode left), I've never seen the menu for the heated grips.... it just doesn't popup, like it never existed..

I just wonder if this could be related with the fact that my dealer changed the blinkers ? problem with wiring ? a fuse ?? Any other idea ?

Any help would be appreciated... cheers

Calvin,

Your heated grip problem may well be related to the LED blinker installation.  When LEDs are installed the dealer needs to change an accessory configuration code in the Main Bike Board (MBB).  The proper code depends on on-board charger capacity, heated grip configuration and blinker configuration.  Your dealer probably chose the wrong code.  For my SR/S premium with 6 kW on-board charging capacity, heated grips and LEDs, the code is 0x36.  Your SR/F has identical electrics and should use the same code.

I had a similar issue when my son-in-law downloaded the Zero app when I bought my 2018 S.  Nothing worked or looked right. I visited my dealer and was told that he had downloaded the app for the EU, instead of the U.S. They managed to delete the one on my phone and download the correct app. Then everything started to work properly.  :)

The Zero people told me the cellular parameter on the display is not something you can toggle, but a function of if its connected or not.

I had a lot of trouble creating an account with the phone app, part of which was due to it rejecting special characters as the user name, which it doesnt bother to tell you is the problem.  So the bluetooth now works.

The cellular... IDK. It must be making some connection sometimes because from time to time it prompts me to update the firmware. But if I try using it in the app it just says "Attempting to connect", even if the bike is turned on.

In case you didn't know, the way to access the heated grips menu is push and hold the menu lever left. Don't push it down, just left. I think the bike needs to be active when you do but I cant remember. I seldom use them. Active means the off switch is on, key is on, and side stand is up.
