So, another of those bikes with zero wind/rain protection? For originality, this one has also done away with any padding on the seat. They've also worked hard to make sure there's zero provision for any luggage: no "tank"bag, not a tailbag, let alone panniers.
Clearly designed by someone who doesn't ride. Disappointing, as BMW's engineering used to pride itself on the fact that they actually all rode, daily. I guess those days are long gone.

Nah, this isn't coming to showrooms. If it did, I predict one-digit sales.

Of course not, it's just a concept to show off the general shape! It'll look much more down to earth when after the engineers and roadtesters get their hands on it. I bet it'll look rather like an RnineT, but hideous in some way to make a point.

I do really like their concept scooter though. A lot.

No, but real bikes allow you to carry stuff in some minimal way. This thing doesn't.
And backpacks are a bad idea both for safety in an accident, and in terms of being able to swivel's one's head to look rearwards.

And I ride and don't have luggage on my bike.

But you do have the "tank" compartment, right? Or otherwise, where do you carry rain gear, an extra clothes layer if it gets cold, snacks, a water bottle etc.?
I'm not talking about fancy hard luggage.

You can fit clothes in the tank?  Mine has tools, markers, an insulated bottle, rags, bandaids, and the j-socket.  I can usually stuff some quarters and another bottle or soda in there...

But my backpack holds everything else.  It doesn't stop me from moving around.  And it makes leaning in the mountains more efficient.

Re: scooters/feet forward motorcycles.
When you are riding a motorcycle , you control the bike with your hands AND the weight on you feet. If you are not, you are not riding properly nor safely. You have very little control with you butt on the seat when it gets difficult.
Scooters are fine for low speeds especially when fitted with small wheels, but once the speed rises you have considerably less control . What's worse when you combine feet forward AND small wheels , your weight activation is much higher relative to the axle removing a considerable leverage advantage.
Smaller wheels also have less "gyroscopic" effect , which is what actually keeps you upright ( no you don't "balance").

My scooter has a 17" front wheel, a 32" seat height, and I can put my feet anywhere from straight out front to straight underneath me...
