During a conversation yesterday with Zero Tech Support the subject of firmware came up.  It seems the listing on their web site for the SR/F and SR/S models is incorrect.  The latest BMS firmware is 18, not 17.  Zero likes to keep the MBB and BMS version numbers the same.  The error occurred because there was no version 14 for the BMS, just as there was no 14 for the MBB.  The version on the web listed as 14 is really 15, and all version numbers above that need to be increased by 1.

I.ve ridden with version 14 for a while so I'm pretty sure it does exist. It was either the version with the EU charge port lock bug or the one that fixed that bug. What they probably ment to tell you is that that version was only a bug fix and no real new features.

It's true that they match the two versions. You can however have a failed update on either of the two resulting in mismatch which in my case didn't result in any issues. I think that was with release of version 17 for me.

It's possible the version number typo applied to the firmware itself as well as the listing on the web.  Hopefully Zero will correct the online error an establish better quality control at home.
