Eva Ribelle - Frame Color
« on: July 26, 2020, 04:55:11 AM »

Has anyone taken delivery on a stealth-grey one and can verify the following?

Expecting red frame but actually like the black better.

Hate waiting.  Hate surprises even more.

I requested more info thru Energica.

Red is standard, Black is an option in EU only at this time.

Red frame color is standard on the Ribelle in Rosso Corso and Stealth Gray and for the black frame color you have to pay a ridiculous amount of € 674 extra.
Energica's explanation was that the red frames are standard and the black should be specially blackened over the red or something (my dealer said that). So
that's bullshit since the EsseEsse 9 has a black frame as standard and that frame is identical on all 3 models .... just Energica's way to earn even more money.

That's half what I paid to get my bumper repainted on my Mazda last time.

Think about it for a moment. All EGO and EVA come standard with red frames. This means that after the frames are manufactured and the VIN numbers (specific to the model of bike) are stamped they are sent for powder coat.
If you really want a EVA with a black frame the factory needs to ship one of the already prepared for assembly EVA red frames back to the powder coater to have it stripped and recoated black.

If everything bike frame did not need to be identified with a unique VIN number it would be a easy swap. But they do the cost of the change is passed onto the customer.

Another example of Energica's exceptional customer service to even consider this as an option.

I've requested it for my bike and dread a reply indicating a delivery delay but accept it as no-magic.

Thanks Demoni for the clarity.

Keep finding it too expensive, the new frames that I make for Harley Davidson Customs cost me between 120 € and 150 € to powder coat depending on the chosen powder coating. Blasting an existing already finished or rusted frame and powder coat again 170 € to 200 €. These are much more frame than those few Energica tubes, it should be way cheaper. But hey as long as the customer is willing to pay that amount of money why not. I have now chosen red on red, otherwise it would have been gray with black frame but it really was not worth that money for me.

What's the cost for disassembly, though?

Those frames are not going to be put together yet, but I will stop this conversation now, everyone does what they want.

I can verify that in Europe you can order them.

Still waiting for my Ribelle, however the dealer contacted me that I could get it earlier with a black frame (ordered red frame)
There was one available. (I am waiting 6 months now  :-\ ) Not sure but I think it's the one he ordered it for himself so thumbs up for the dealer  :)
Same config I ordered with suspension and so on.  (only frame is additional price, correct see site energica)

Was in serious doubt, but taste is personal and I really like the red frame better. contrast with grey, very nice.
So no regret and still waiting  :-\ hoping to get mine soon now.

Picture of Marchel (the dealer on the bike, he drove the Dutch 1000 (1000 km in 24h avoiding highway) no problem with fast charging only with the rain, lots of rain. (Think he made around 700 km)
(hmm could be mine....  ...  looks nice, still red is better.... after 3 weeks .... hmmm... )

And your correct not available in USA? Strange

If I use VPN in the USA that option is not in the list.

Energica config I see:  (option is there)

@ frank_b - thank you sire for posting the image.

Aside from the OZ wheels and windshield, it looks like my bike.

Energica confirmed delivery will be a black frame Ribelle - money spent is difficult to justify by some.

This is not a trivial purchase for this old goat either - the wifey reminds me I'm way over budget but acknowledges, I only live once.

@ OWM you'r welcome.

And Agree on the total cost the extra money is not more then switching mirrors or other stuff. If you like it, go fo it.
