Pretty good article!

Tho I dunno about the cost/payback.  It's alot of miles.

Then again, the performance of my bike in year six of its life so far shows that there's not much worry about batteries!

I agree. There is little concern regarding the life of Zero batteries, but their on-board chargers are another matter.  ::)

From that article: "Energica claims its current batteries will last between 149,000 to 249,000 miles before exhibiting a loss in performance."

So then why won't they give a battery warranty of 149,000 miles?  ;)

The experience with my DS is the opposite. The battery crapped out at less than 10K miles, the OBC is still as good as new at 11,000 miles. YMMV.
