Thinking about trading my 2016 DSR for a FXS.
« on: March 30, 2020, 11:58:07 PM »

After my ride yesterday I was thinking of downsizing. Thoughts, comments, concerns? 13.0 battery, 7500 miles.
I would post a pic but my file sizes are too large and I'm too stupid to figure out how to downsize them!

If you're going to post it, your location will become important!

Different machines for different purposes....sounds like you know that already. That's just a decision you'll have to make. I don't ride off-road, but if you do at all, I doubt the DSR is right for you. It's more an "if you gotta" off-road bike than an "occasional" off-road bike.

If you're on a PC (Windows machine), right-click on the file name, then select "open with" and then "paint". Select the "resize" option from the paint home page. Leave the "maintain aspect ratio" option clicked on so your picture will maintain its shape, and size how you want it.

Did you mean to say FXS there? The DS is quite capable off road. Anyway, as he's looking at an FXS and not an FX I'm guessing he sticks to roads.

Things to take note of going from a DSR to an FXS is you'll be down on power and torque (setting your DSR to 67% torque would replicate it, maybe a bit higher to make up for the lighter weight of the FXS), you lose the tank storage, you obviously have less range, and you also charge at about half the rate. Unless you specifically want the super moto handling perhaps consider a 7.2 S if it's available where you are.

I would do this. FXS is super light, really funny and one of the best bikes I have had.

Thank you for your responses. I’ll dial down the torque on my next ride and see if I can live without the face peel! Range really isn’t an issue for me or charge time either. I only ride it once a week at most and living in LA means maneuverability is just as important as power. At least on the streets.

I have a 2013 FX converted to and FXs. When I got my 2016 SR, I was going to sell the FXs.
It is so light and so much fun to ride that I kept it.
