Installing a faster charger on 2016 DSR
« on: March 28, 2020, 11:23:31 PM »

Quiet time, staying in finishing my charger project
6.6kW charger from Otten , hard wired to a 3-phase mennekes  giving 6.6 + the Calex
Wiring a ss relay to enable the Calex when on single phase - handy so the Bluetooth works to check status

As there is no 12v permanent supply meaning I either leave it keyed on or only charge on 3.3kW , I will install a power bank from a phone which will be charged from the accessory via a usb converter.
Getting 4.7kW so far

Testing seems ok from the first impression

Wait Lennart's stuff doesn't include a charge enable?

Hi Morgan, there isn’t a charge enable signal from Lennart’s system, need to ‘key on’ to enable charge.
I’ve chosen to adapt the 3-phase  input to use the Calex when on single phase.
I was thinking of switching both 3.3kW chargers as well but maybe it would overload the cable.

Well the only way to have it set so you don't need the key to start charging is to go through the MXJ connector and utilize the CAN bus. However are you saying there's nothing that puts the bike into charge mode so you can turn the key off and walk away with the bike still charging?

Yes I can key on and start the charge then key off and leave it charging
I think Because it has the Calex still connected when on 3-phase I can still monitor the charge
This is why I am connecting the Calex on single phase.
I’d welcome any further suggestions
