Zero SR/S in Reno
« on: March 13, 2020, 09:19:09 AM »

They have one each, a SR/F and a SR/S at the Reno  Eurocycles. They have the SR/S  fixed up with all the hard touring luggage. The hard side cases and travel trunk.  And I didn't know the SR/S came with a centerstand as well as a sidestand.

I sat on the bike, it was comfy for a sport-touring electric  bike. No forward lean, unlike the SR/F. But I am not crazy about the footpeg position being way back, but somehow felt better overall that the SR/F.

I didn't go for a test ride, but I think it's a very nice bike, one I could have considered if I didn't already have three electric bikes.

I didn't think of it at the time, even though I did have my camera with me in my Harley (which I just came back from a 200 mile ride on).  BTW, I went with my buddy George who also likes the Zero SR/S but not the SR/F, who I went with today. We stopped on the way back to check on my Zero DS and I was very surprised to see the shinny SR/S in the parking lot. A great looking bike, IMO.

But I am going back there in the morning to pick up my DS (see the My DS 6.5 Battery thread here, posted today) and I will be sure to take some photos of it to post here.

I saw a silver one today in Santa Cruz.

I thought it looks better in person than in the pictures.

Looks pretty menacing in the rearview too.

I like it. I wouldn't buy it because of incompatibility with DC quick charging.

I'm a 2018 SR owner who lives in Reno. I test drove the SR/S at Euro Cycle today. It started very smoothly and felt as light as SR. But I noticed a red triangle warning icon was on, so I just drove it around a block and came back to shop without driving it on highway. They said they will have it looked at by technician.

Welcome to the forum!

When they first received a SR/F, it also had a problem, but it was corrected with a software update.

What part of Reno are you in? I have a couple of houses in Reno, one on the very top of University Ridge and the other in Cold Springs Valley. I normally spend more time in Reno than here.

Perhaps we can get together for a ride one of these days, the next time I am in Reno. But I just  came back here to Auburn, from Reno, less than 12 hours ago.

Nice to meet you online, Don! I'm in South Reno. Let me know next time you come up here.
I didn't see SR/F yesterday. Maybe they already sold it. They said Zero's sell fast.

My photo shown here of the SR/S was taken less than 24 hours ago. The red bike parked behind it, which can be seen in the same photo, is their SR/F. They sold their last  SR/F just a few weeks ago and already have a replacement. Both the same color, red, & premium model with 6K charging. So if they did sell their SR/F it was after 1000 hrs yesterday.

How long have you had your Zero SR? Does it have the charge tank? I have recharged all three of my electric bikes at the Tamarack Junction Casino.

BTW, you can see my Energica  charging at many locations in the Reno, Carson City, Genoa area  on Plugshare.
