Front fender mounting point measurements
« on: February 22, 2020, 12:28:14 AM »

Does anyone know the exact measurements of the front fender (2018 Zero S)?
I'm trying to check with the www.ionemoto.com/ guys to see if any of the aero front fenders can fit my bike. And also how wide is the fender if someone has already measured it?

This is a good question. Here's the unofficial manual article I'd update for this: https://zeromanual.com/wiki/Gen2/Front_Fender

I have had brackets made on my DSR to support the SR front fender (see https://zeromanual.com/wiki/Low_Front_Fender_Swap), and so somewhere I know the bolt hole pattern and width, but maybe I can get it off of my current bike.

Thanks Brian, it would be great to get it off of the current bike! The only measurement tool i have is a tape and that gives no good measurement for this and i think i would need something better to get an accurate measurement.

I have some decent calipers for tasks like this, so I'll see what I can do. I'll try to spend a half hour today for this, just need to take off the fork guards to measure everything down to the millimeter and update the manual.

If I'm really lucky, I'll find a spare sport fender in my parts bins, but I don't recall having one after the accident.

I've updated the Front Fender article with the measurements, also here for convenience:

The mounting uses 4 (2 per side) M5x15 bolts with a black finish, with a 3mm Allen/hex key (H3) drive with black plastic washers.
The holes are 84mm apart (centerline-to-centerline), and the width across the brackets measured from the outside face is 192mm across the wheel (taken from a 2020 DSR).

Awesome thanks Brian! Let me respond to them with these and check if thats enough information to find a potential match. I am basically hoping they can find one of their streamliner drag fenders that can match this or even an OEM low drag fender (highly unlikely).

Oh, please let us know if you find a good candidate, for the manual.
