Cover for DSR 2018
« on: February 02, 2020, 02:29:12 AM »

Looking at getting a good motorcycle cover for my DSR 2018 (no sidecases, tailbags or dropbars) that will have a good snug fit on my bike as I sometime have to leave it outside at work where it can be very windy / rainy. Looking for something relatively small that can fit in backpack once folded. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help!

So far I've been using a trash bag.  Since the bike doesn't get hot and all I really need is to cover the seat...  it does fold up well ^-^;

This is the cover I have. Has three straps; front, rear, and middle, elastic in the hem at the front and rear so it grips under the tyres, and metal eyelets front and rear for sticking a chain through. It's held up perfectly with the recent gale force winds we've had in the UK.

Just over two pounds in weight and supposedly UV safe is nice.  How small does it pack, though?  There's nothing to scale in the image of it closed.

Dunno, I only use it at home so just roll it up loosely and stick it somewhere indoors and my mum bought it for me and took it out of the bag which I never saw. If I had to guess I would say it would fairly easily go into the lower storage compartment of a half battery SDS but probably not in the tank compartment. Should also fit in a backpack.

I have seen the Nelson Rigg Defender extreme but not sure yet. Seems well built but never had any of their products before. Any thoughts?

I use this amazon cover

Bike Cover, XL Large Waterproof... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZYTSXF7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It’s just okay honestly. But it packs down really small!

How small?  12oz soda? 6oz soda? 20oz soda? bigger?

I use this on my 2018 S: https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycles-Waterproof-Accessories-Protection-Hole-ClawsCover/dp/B07R7217FV?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1
I chose this one since it is 420D polyester which is significantly better than some of the other covers over there.
