I read this in an article about the LiveWire.
According to data from Polk, analysts at BMO Capital Markets say industry leader Zero Motorcycle only sold 750 electric motorcycles in the U.S. in 2018.

That's almost certainly false.
I'm with Crissa: the Motely Fool is not really a good source for actual data on anything; given their focus is playing short-term stock market games, they have no inherent interest in the actual domains of activity of the companies they "report" on . Virtually every article I've ever read there on a subject I'm familiar with had inaccurate & slanted reporting.
There are sources that track all motorcycles sales, that don't have stock market positions, that are far more likely to be objective.
This following 2000-3000 global unit sales in 2018, with a bit under 1500 in the US, and 900 in Europe, is far more reasonable.
https://motorcyclesdata.com/2019/06/16/zero-motorcycles/ Note the estimate also matches the estimate given in a BusinessInsider interview of Sam Paschel, Zero's CEO, in March 2018, of ~2000 bikes annually.
While Zero might not reveal detailed figures, and as a private company they're not obligated to, it's extremely unlikely the CEO would actively lie about it in an interview with a respected business publication. Too risky if a lie was uncovered, and it wouldn't be difficult to compile a pretty good estimate (most countries have official registration reports by brand, most fleet sales are publicized etc.).
