SR/F Settings in Menu not saving.
« on: December 03, 2019, 12:38:57 AM »

Hi all,

Just a quick question from anyone with knowledge of the SR/F. I picked mine up from a dealer a few weeks ago, and flashed the latest firmwares (14). This seems to have taken correctly.

Here's a thing. Whenever I change the settings on the bike, they take fine and I can ride around like that, but whenever I key off and then on again, the bike resets these settings to how it was when I picked it up? is there something I'm missing to "Save" these settings to the bike? there doesn't appear to be an "Apply" button or something similar and it throws no codes and starts and rides perfectly ok. So there's nothing wrong with it that I can tell, but the clock always resets to 12pm and the temp changes back to F rather than C when I turn it on (I'm in the uk). also, if I turn off the auto-sync from the settings, then to time stays correctly on next boot up.

is there something I can do to get these settings to "take" properly or is this something the dealer has to have a look at?

cheers for any help.

Tom.

I think the dash has its own settings for display of units and the clock that would need an internal power supply to save properly. Ask your dealer; probably a defect covered under warranty.

... except for the detail about disabling auto-sync from the settings fixing the issue. Now it seems like another kind of bug.

I've just turned it on to check, and the time is still saved because the auto sync is turned off. So, it doesn't appear to be an issue with the battery saving the settings, it's like they just don't want to take. Maybe I should delete the app and try re-syncing it.

I might have answered my own question with a bit of "search-fu". Having looked for various terms this came up and it sounds exactly like the symptoms i have, so replacing fuse #6 looks like the obvious answer seeing as everything else works as expected. I've cross referenced this with the SR/F's manual and it all matches, so that's where i start tonight.

I'll report back when i get home and take a look under the seat.

Edit: I've had it all apart and it was just a blown fuse (5A, Fuse number 6). So this issue doesn't log any codes when it happens, it just resets everything and lets you get on with it. I didn't have a spare one in my kit, but luckily it comes equipt with one as a spare in the fuse box compartment. I must remember to replace this now :-) Might want to log this as an solution in the SR/F technical sections.
