I can appreciate the dilemma that the promoters are in....  While at the same time-- very disappointing....

Well, at least it's not the usual reason!

I noticed that alot of top fuel unlimited competitions have now tightened their rules to exclude electrics which are starting to dominate the mid-tiers.

When Michael Cszysz was still alive it was interesting to see.  Since he died, and no one from the family continued his efforts, Mugen has had a cakewalk every year.  Damned shame.  Even more disappointing is that no one has pursued any of the ground-breaking technology Cszysz devised, either.  I guess the e1PC will eventually be viewed as the "Electric Britten."

I would think the race would be a natural for Hatfield and Lightning.  They tackled Pike's Peak, so why not shoot for this one?  I wish SOMEONE would step in where MotoCszysz left off...

Does anybody think a GoFundMe effort would yield enough bux to fund a reasonable competitor to Mugen? Any way we could beat the bushes for some corporate money? (After all, team Mugen is heavily sponsored by Mugen). I have no actual EV design experience, but I am an EE and would probably be able to do some damage. I'd love to volunteer some hours to the cause.

It's a great loss to no longer be at the TT. Whenever I'm talking about EVs, I like to mention Lightning's and VW's wins at Pike's Peak to prove that EVs are able to compete at the highest levels.

Can't blame management of the TT, though. If there's not enough interest in a class, it's going to have to go. We should seriously find a way to pique peoples' interest.
