New to the forum. I recently acquired a good deal on a 2013 Zero XU but came as a complete bike minus the battery. Anyone know where there might be a source for these batteries or is anyone making them by chance? Zero said they can get them but at $3250!!! That’s a bit steep. Just want to use this on camping trips and around town. Getting my feet wet with electric motorcycles. Thanks for any info.

These are expensive. Someone gave the name of the maker of the components (use the search engine to find the message). Also you migh find a wrecked Zero somewhere...

The battery is the single most expensive component of an EV.

Zero makes the batteries with upstream supplier Farasis, who will not undercut Zero, because they’re a business and like making money.

Everyone complains about the premium of Zero over gas bikes and almost every last penny is just the cost of the battery.

Pay for it.
