Charging cables with an Energica bike?
« on: April 16, 2019, 11:58:08 AM »

Hi guys!

I'm interested in buying an Esseesse 9, and I was wondering what kind of charging cables are provided with the bike? (before I make to long trip to the only dealer in Austria :) ) Right around the corner from our flat, we have a public charging station with 11kw and a Type 2 plug, and at home I could charge it from a standard 220V (Type F) outlet. Do I have to buy adapters and cables for those 2 charging methods?

Best,
Reini

Hi Reini,

The Energica charging kit is a type2-schuko cable, so for home charging so to say. A cable for public charging, type2-type2, should be bought separately, unless your dealer is so kind as to deliver that with the bike as the Dutch dealer does.

Cool, thanks for the information! I'll be having a test drive at the end of May...

In the US, Energica provides the J1772 to 110V charger cord with each new one.    Most people leave this at home or work, its small enough for a backpack.

using Level 2 or 3 public charging stations requires no additional cables/adaptors.

In Europe, most AC charging stations up to 22kW require you to bring your own cable. Only the high-power ones have fixed cables.
