Tacita opens a U.S. distributorship

Tacita is opening their U.S. distributor headquarters in Miami Florida.  Now all they need is a distribution network of retail dealers and all of the other stuff that goes with selling motorcycles in the U.S. market:

With a 27 kWh for $24,999.  That 27 KWH battery should give a nice range.  And can charge  "80 percent of the battery in under 40 minutes."  Looks great also, IMO.

I would like to know more about that bike than what they show here.

" These battery packs last for 50 miles for the base kit and goes all the way up to 170 miles for the top of the line 27 kWh pack."

Doesn't say at what speed, but I would expect a city range of around 300 miles with  that  27 KWH battery.

IMO, to say a range with no mention of speed on an electric motorcycle  is rather meaningless.  But the 27KWH battery says a lot. And to charge that up to 80% in 40 minutes? Charged with what?

They list CCS for charging a 120V LiPo pack.

The T-Cruise was announced two years ago, with little confirmation since.

I’m skeptical, although naturally I’d like a bike exceeding 20kWh to meet the non-luxury market, especially if it’s reliable and serviceable. The market doesn’t have one yet; everyone seems to be making toys, still.

I wonder what 27kWh worth of batteries weighs and what type of batteries they are?  I would be surprised if their 27kWh model sells for less than $30K in the U.S.  ???

They are also claiming it is a 120 volt system and that it can charge on L3.Why would an Italian motorcycle company install CHAdeMO??? Doesn't make any sense. There is no way it can support CCS charging which can't manage voltages below 200 volts. And a 5 speed transmission???? WTF??

70 nm of torque translates into 51.6 lb ft or torque. So definitely not the performance level we see out of Zero or Energica.

They specifically say they use CCS for DC charging, see the spec for the 27kWh battery here, towards the bottom of the page.
The charging speed they mention (31 additional miles every 10 min) seems to match a 24kW DC charging rate (120V pack voltage x 200A current).
I thought maybe CCS would officially support <200V voltages in the future, but cursory googling yields  CharIn docs that say 200V is the minimum, as you note.

A 5-gear transmission sounds totally bizarre, of course. I can't make head or tail of their description of the transmission or clutch on that link above.

Also bizarre is offering a large battery option for a cruiser without fairing or windshield -- this isn't a tourer or sports-tourer.
